The New York Piano-Organ Duo

Jason Cutmore, piano
Daniel Sullivan, organ

“We were expecting wonderful – and we got it… both were clearly ‘in the zone’ when they performed. Everyone marveled at the colors they produced and the complexity of the piano-organ pieces – particularly their ability to read one another’s minds. It was scary in a good way!”

-Judy Evans, Concert Presenter, Cincinnati, OH

“Conscientious artists who have devoted their lives to mastering their respective instruments… the results of their collaboration are outstanding.  Several weeks after the recital, I continue to receive compliments from members of the audience who were deeply impressed by their artistry, their technique, and the spirit of collaboration and conviviality which was so evident in their performance.”

-David Hughes, Concert Presenter. Norwalk, CT

Formed in 2007, the New York Piano-Organ Duo is dedicated to performing the wide-ranging repertoire for this unique and exciting combination of instruments.  This music includes works by living composers as well as the great 19th and 20th century masters (such as Franck and Dupre), duo-keyboard pieces from the 18th century, and Baroque concertos.  The New York Piano-Organ Duo also endeavors to expand the existing piano-organ repertoire through transcriptions of other concert pieces (for example, Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf) and commissioning projects.

Colleagues and friends since their time as undergraduate students at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, pianist Jason Cutmore and organist Daniel Sullivan now reside in New York, where they enjoy busy careers as performers and teachers.  Their upcoming concerts in the United States and Canada include an appearance in the Colours of Music Festival in Ontario, and a performance in New York City's Merkin Concert Hall, to premier a new work commissioned from composer Ronn Yedidia.
